2019 is promising to be enormous for gaming with it likely being the final hurrah for this generation before we move onto the next one. With so many great titles releasing each year, it’s getting harder to keep count. Black Friday is looming over the horizon and most of the games in 2019 will be subject to sales. So we compiled a list of the best games of 2019 to help you decide what to get.

-

Resident Evil 2

Survival horror has plenty of classics to its name, but few hold as much significance to fans as the original Resident Evil games. Remade with modern visuals and mechanical improvements in mind, Capcom has completely remade that milestone in gaming.

-

Metro Exodus

Metro Exodus takes players to the surface as protagonist Artyom and his fellow Spartan soldiers chart a course across an irradiated Russia. With diverse breathtaking environments, immersive gameplay, and a captivating story, Metro Exodus certainly deserves its place as one of the best games of 2019.

-

Apex Legends

While it might not convert the PUBG faithful or fans of the candy-colored build-fest that is Fortnite, there’s no denying that Respawn’s latest effort is very special indeed and made a hugely significant impact on the battle royal market.

-

Days Gone

With a seriously dense amount of content, and evolving protagonist, and a stunning spectacle or two on offer, don’t let Days Gone go by. While not the most perfect game, it still has a lot to offer.

-

Devil May Cry 5

It serves up a heaping pile of visually attractive, stylish action that finds players beating enemies to a pulp. Action both looks and feels amazing. For a game that is almost entirely about action, it also has a surprisingly elaborate and engaging story.

-

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice

A confident step forward for the studio that blends some of the elements it’s made a name for itself with while adding in new mechanics and ideas that take those familiar ingredients in a welcome new direction.

-

Mortal Kombat 11

With elaborate single-player storyline spanning the entire MK saga, a robust online mode, and extensive daily ladders and challenges, there is plenty to keep you playing each day. For Mortal Kombat fans this is an absolute must-have.
-

A Plague Tale: Innocence

Featuring an enthralling story, engaging gameplay, and magnificent in-game environments, this game certainly satisfies players looking for a rewarding single-player driven campaign.

-

Rage 2

With exceptional shooting, colorful world, a whole plethora of innovative abilities, and weapons, Rage 2 makes the journey fun from start to end. Rage 2 does something very rare: it offers an experience you’ve already seen plenty of times, but makes it fun regardless.

-

Wolfenstein: The New Order

An over-the-top shooter with fun action, memorable set-piece moments, and decent characters, Wolfenstein: The New Order successfully transforms an old-school game into a modern experience.

-

Control

The perfect blend of narrative and gameplay, coherency and strangeness, Control is a game we’ll be talking about for generations.

-

Borderlands 3

Gearbox has created the best Borderlands yet. It feels very familiar to the others in the series, making it easier to launch straight into, but there is enough new and improved to sate the appetites of fans and newcomers alike.

So, these are the best games out so far in 2019. What do you think? Have we missed something?
