Marvel’s Avengers: How Much do we Know so Far?

The very first footage for Marvel's Avengers was revealed at E3 2019. Square Enix then took it to Gamescom, sharing a lengthy new gameplay trailer that showed each of Captain America, Iron Man, Black Widow, Thor, and The Incredible Hulk in action and took the fans in awe. A game based on The Avengers was long overdue and after the Avengers Endgame movie; now surely looks a great time to head forward with this project.
The game will be released for PC, Google Stadia, Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on May 15, 2020.
So far we know what characters are present in the game and how they are designed. However, there is no doubt that a lot of work and time has been put in designing the characters yet what the developers did not anticipate was the hot heated arguments based on the character designs for all five heroes among the fans and yes the response is not all sweet and charming. Although according to Crystal Dynamics' lead creative director, Shaun Escayg, "currently there are no plans to change our character designs’’ is what showed a firm stance about the designs by the developers but many sources are suggesting that the gameplay might receive some additional touch-ups whereas the character of Captain America aka Steve Rogers might get some polishing of his own before the launch of the game next year.
The amount of seriousness and efforts that Marvel and co. have put into this game is immense, Avengers editorial director Casey Lynch said that "everything about the game is going to continue to change as we polish, as we approach launch right now. But things that we’ve shown both at E3 and here (Gamescom), it’s all been pre-alpha. There’ll be changes to everything from the characters to a lot of what you see.’’ This shows the effort committed to the game as it is in a constant development phase.
Many fans noticed the uncanny similarities between the Hulk of THE INCREDIBLE HULK – PS2 game and the HULK for the Marvel's Avengers as he not only looked same but had almost similar moves and actions. They did not shy away from mentioning how it reminds them completely of the HULK of their PS2 game.
The footage released at E3 further showed that one of the villains in the game is TASKMASTER and how he is planning to launch a Sonic Bomb in the city to which Earth’s Mightiest Heroes are united to respond. Not much is known about the TASKMASTER except that he is a former Shield agent as he addresses the Black widow saying ‘’As one former shield agent to another, keep up’’ as the black widow is chasing him to get the detonator from him. Although the detonator was taken by black widow and was disabled, it was supposedly just a decoy and in a quick change of events, the next thing you know is that Captain America is in a blast and dies… Yes our very own Steve Rogers dies in the opening moments of the Game (or he doesn’t, but that’s all we know for now). The fans were hit with a moment of shock with the revelation of Captain's death and the post-blast scenes show how blamed for the tragedy the Avengers are disbanded and disunited.
Added to their misery and disappointment; many fans have raised their concerns on a serious matter. WHERE IS SPIDERMAN?
After the immense success of Marvel's Spider-Man developed by INSOMNIAC Games, many fans are asking why he is not the part of the Marvel’s Avengers gameplay or was nowhere to be found in the footage. Since there are currently no reports about his presence in the game many of the fans are not very optimistic about his character since just last week Marvel, Sony and Disney had a business break-up since they weren’t able to reach an agreement as to how they intend to take the Spiderman project forward.
As of now, everyone is excitingly waiting for the release of the Marvel’s Avengers whereas there is not much uncovered the game surely holds great prospect and much room for not only expansion on the story mode but for characters as well.
