Ever since Ubisoft revealed that they were working on a remake for their cult classic Prince of Persia: Sands of Time, the internet has had a rather “adverse” reaction to the critically acclaimed game’s makeover.

The game was initially delayed and was supposed to come out sometime next month but it seems like the wait is going to have to be a long one as Ubisoft has delayed it for the second time and this time around it seems to be indefinitely delayed:

The game was being developed by Ubisoft Pune and they received a lot of criticism from the internet when the original remake trailer and screenshots were revealed to the public for being not up to par with what should look like a game being released in the current day and age. The studio has gone ahead and stated the reason for the delay being that they need the extra time to make sure that they “deliver a remake that feels fresh while remaining faithful to the original.”
The first delay was attributed to the COVID-19 Pandemic and Ubisoft pushed a lot of their titles (we still don’t have any word about Rainbow Six: Quarantine’s status) further than their original release date. However, this seems to be the correct move in today’s climate in the industry where developers (We’re looking at you, CD Projekt Red) are put under a lot of pressure by the gaming crowd to release complete games that feel worth the 60$ price tag that they have. We will most likely see the remake drop sometime later than the release of Far Cry 6 and Rainbow Six Quarantine as both of them are slated to drop sometime in 2021.
